According to the input, Trump warned Iran not to use violence against peaceful protesters. He said that if protesters are shot and killed, the United States will not remain silent. He stated that America stands by the protesters. He also issued a strong warning that the United States is ready to wage war if protesters are killed. The warning came as demonstrations continued in several Iranian cities over worsening economic conditions.

However, Iran rejected Trump’s warning. Ali Larijani, a senior advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, responded sharply. He said that any US interference in Iran’s protests would create chaos across the region. He also advised Trump not to interfere in Iran’s internal affairs. Larijani added that Iran would respond strongly to any US attacks. Therefore, tensions between the two countries remain high amid the ongoing unrest.

Meanwhile, Iran continues to face a deep economic crisis. The value of the Iranian rial has dropped sharply against the US dollar. The currency fell to 1.42 million rials for one US dollar in the open market. This marked its lowest level in 2025. As a result, prices of essential goods have risen sharply across the country, adding to public anger.

The country has already suffered due to nuclear sanctions. However, the situation has worsened because of an energy crisis, water shortages, air pollution, and internet censorship. International sanctions, nuclear pressure, and the impact of the June conflict with Israel are believed to be key reasons for the economic decline.

Later, the economic crisis triggered widespread protests. Food prices increased by 72 per cent, while health related goods rose by 50 per cent. Fuel price hikes and proposed tax increases added further pressure. Traders and shopkeepers in Tehran, Hamadan, Isfahan, and Shiraz shut their shops in protest. Workers, nurses, and others also held strikes and sit ins, demanding steps to protect people from the crisis. (Maxim News)
