Dr. Namrata And Two Others Sent to Chanchalguda Jail, Remanded To 14-Day Judicial Custody
Hyderabad, July 27, 2025 — In a major development in the unfolding Srishti Fertility scam, the Marredpally court on Saturday remanded Dr. Namrata, the manager of Universal Srishti Fertility Center in Secunderabad, along with two lab technicians, to 14 days of judicial custody. The Gopalapuram police transferred all three accused to Chanchalguda Central Jail.
The arrests follow a high-stakes investigation into allegations of large-scale fertility fraud involving surrogacy, IVF, and IUI procedures. According to police sources, Dr. Namrata has been identified as the prime accused (A1) in the case.
Nationwide Scam Unearthed
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the Srishti Fertility Center, which operates multiple branches across the country, is allegedly involved in defrauding hopeful couples by promising children through unauthorized or unethical medical practices. The accused are believed to have collected massive sums from patients, exploiting their emotional and financial vulnerability.
Authorities suspect that the clinic illegally sourced and transported sperm and egg samples to other states, including Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, in collaboration with an unregistered entity named Indian Sperm Tech. Several arrests have already been made, and police teams are working to dismantle the broader network associated with the scam.
Investigation Intensifies
With the accused now in judicial custody, police are intensifying efforts to trace the clinic’s nationwide operations and financial trail. Officials are examining clinic records, frozen assets, and cross-state transactions to build a comprehensive case.
A senior officer stated, “This is not just a case of medical negligence—it’s a well-organized racket involving multiple players across state lines. We are committed to uncovering the full extent of the scam and bringing all those involved to justice.”
Public Outrage and Legal Implications
The Srishti scam has sparked public outrage and renewed calls for stricter regulation of fertility clinics in India. Legal experts emphasize that this case could become a landmark in tightening guidelines around surrogacy and fertility treatments.
Meanwhile, the affected families are demanding justice and transparency, especially those who were misled into paying lakhs of rupees with the hope of parenthood.
The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are likely in the coming days.
