Srishti Fertility Center Manager Dr. Namrata Arrested Illegal Surrogacy Case

Hyderabad, July 27, 2025 — In a shocking revelation, Hyderabad police have arrested Dr. Namrata, the manager of Universal Srishti Fertility Center in Regimental Bazar, Secunderabad, along with two lab technicians, for their alleged involvement in an illegal surrogacy and sperm trafficking racket.

The arrests followed a late-night raid that continued until 2 AM, during which police and medical officials seized critical documents, sperm samples, and equipment. Investigations revealed that the fertility center was illegally collecting sperm and eggs and transporting them to states like Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh without proper authorization.

Authorities further uncovered connections between the fertility center and a firm named Indian Sperm Tech, which was reportedly operating without official permission. The company’s regional manager, Pankaj Soni, has also been named as a key accused. Several others, including Pankaj Samudi, Srim, Jitender, Shiva, Manikantha, and Boro, have been arrested for their roles in the scam.

The Case That Unraveled the Racket

The investigation began after a couple from Rajasthan, residing in Secunderabad for the past four years, approached Gopalapuram police with a complaint. The couple had paid Rs. 30 lakh to the Universal Srishti Fertility Center in August last year to have a child through surrogacy. After the child was born, the couple demanded DNA testing, as per their initial agreement, to confirm biological parentage.

Despite multiple follow-ups, Dr. Namrata delayed the test. When the couple independently got the DNA test done in Delhi, the results revealed the child was not biologically related to them. Confronted with the findings, Dr. Namrata allegedly admitted the error and asked for time to resolve the issue, but later disappeared.

Feeling cheated, the couple filed a formal complaint, leading to the police investigation and the uncovering of a larger surrogacy scam that potentially spans multiple states.

Legal Action Underway

Police have filed a case and are continuing their investigation into the extent of the illegal activities. Authorities suspect more victims and clinics may be involved in the racket. Officials are also looking into violations of medical ethics, surrogacy regulations, and human trafficking laws.

The incident has sparked public outrage and calls for stricter regulation of fertility clinics and surrogacy services across India.
