Hyderabad, August 25: Police detained two juveniles in connection with a night time house burglary in Rein Bazar and recovered valuables worth about Rs. 18 lakh.
The Commissioner’s Task Force, Charminar Zone team, worked with Rein Bazar Police to trace the suspects. Police apprehended the two boys on August 24.
Police recovered 124.67 grams of gold ornaments from the juveniles. They also recovered Rs. 25,000 in Indian currency and foreign currency worth about Rs. 12,000.
The recovery also included four mobile phones. Police said the total value of the recovered property stands at about Rs. 18 lakh.
Juveniles allegedly targeted locked house at night
Police registered the case after receiving a complaint on August 22. The complainant reported the theft of gold jewellery, cash and foreign currency from his house.
Rein Bazar Police registered Crime No. 146/2026 under Sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation then began to identify those involved in the burglary.
During the investigation, the Task Force and Rein Bazar Police developed technical clues. The teams subsequently traced and apprehended the two boys.
Police identified both as boys in conflict with law, aged 16 and 15. Both juveniles reside in Yakutpura, Hyderabad.
During questioning, police said the juveniles disclosed that they frequently visited gaming zones. They allegedly spent money on games and later faced shortages for their personal expenses.
Police said the two then planned to steal valuables and cash. On the night of August 21, they allegedly noticed that a house gate remained locked from outside.
The juveniles allegedly entered the building through the terrace. They then used the staircase to enter the house and steal the valuables.
After the alleged theft, both juveniles reportedly left through the terrace. They then went to the residence of one of the juveniles and concealed the stolen property.
Police recovered the gold and cash based on information obtained during the investigation.
The operation took place under the supervision of S. Saidababu, Inspector of Police, Charminar Zone Task Force, and C. Nethaji, SHO, Rein Bazar Police Station.
Md. Nayeemuddin, Detective Inspector, and Sub Inspectors M. Mahesh, K. Rama Rao and M. Madhu also participated in the operation.
The Task Force and Rein Bazar Police staff assisted in the apprehension and recovery.
Police have taken further legal steps in accordance with the provisions applicable to juveniles in conflict with law.
The case highlights the importance of securing residential premises, especially during night hours. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the burglary and the recovered property.
