DSC Notification To Be Released Before LS Polls Schedule

Hyderabad, Jan 24 (Maxim News): Before the schedule of Lok Sabha elections, the exercise is underway to issue DSC supplementary notification.

The Education department is collecting many details including those who are going to retire. A total of 3,800 government teachers will retire this year in the state. Actually, all of them are supposed to retire in 2021, they are still working in the background of raising the retirement age by three years. The retirements will start from the end of March. The school education department has collected the relevant statistics as new teacher appointments are to be made.

In August last year, the Education Department had issued notification to fill 5,089 teacher vacancies. The present government has decided to take up Mega DSC by increasing the number of vacancies. That’s why a supplementary notification will be issued adding about 5 thousand more vacancies to the old notification. A supplementary notification is expected to be issued before the Lok Sabha Election Model code of conduct comes into force.

Around 1,500 Special Educator posts are also expected to be filled to teach children with special needs. The government has to take a final decision on promotions etc. For those who are already working. The source of the education department say that they have to discuss with the Chief Minister once again and get the final approval. They have prepared everything.

This year a maximum of 370 teachers will retire in Hyderabad. There are 2260 people in medchal, 240 in Khammam, 210 in Ranga Reddy, 200 in Sangareddy and 190 in Nizamabad.  At least 40 people will retire in narayanpet.  The total number of sanctioned teacher posts in the state is 1.22 lakh.  At present 1.03 lakh people are working.  That means 3.7 percent of the working people will retire this year.

More than 80 percent of all retiring teachers are men.  All those who are retiring now are 30 year old appointees.  At that time women were less in the teaching ranks.  sources in the education department said that 33 percent reservation for women came into effect in 1996.  (Maxim News)
