Eatala Purchased Land Worth Rs 200 Cr Illegally: Congress
Congress leader Koushik Reddy informed that Rajender purchased 68 acres of land worth Rs 200 crore in Rawalkol village in 2019 in the name of his son and benami
Karimnagar, May 8: Congress leader and Huzurabad constituency in-charge, Padi Koushik Reddy alleged that former Minister Eatala Rajender has purchased Rs 200 crore worth land in Rawalkol village in Medchal mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district with the money amassed illegally.
He found fault with Rajender for misleading the people by stating that he has not purchased lands either in Hitec-city or Banjara Hills areas. However, the former minister purchased costly lands in the names of his family members as well as benamis on the outskirts of Hyderabad, Koushik Reddy said while addressing a press conference here on Saturday.
While speaking to the media recently, Rajender informed that he has not purchased a small piece of land illegally, and he earned all his wealth through legal means of poultry business.
Contrary to MLA’s statement, Koushik Reddy informed that Rajender purchased 68 acres of land worth Rs 200 crore in Rawalkol village in 2019. While 31.25 acres was purchased in the name of his son Nithin Reddy, another 36.39 acre was bought in the name of his benami Sada Keshava Reddy.
“The market value of each acre is said to be around Rs 3 crore. So, the value of the entire land is Rs 200 crore. How did Rajender managed to get such a huge amount if he did not amass money illegally,” he questioned and wanted the former minister to admit the facts before the public.
Referring to Rajender’s statement that turnover of his business was Rs 300 crore, Koushik Reddy claimed that in order to convert black money into white, Rajender was continuing hatcheries business. He appealed to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to order an enquiry into Rs 200 crore land scam and hand over the case to the CBI.
Further, Koushik Reddy stated that Rajender was misleading the people by projecting himself as a person hailing from the BC community though he was Reddy. “The former Minister’s name was mentioned as Rajender Reddy in the land documents purchased in Rawalkol on the name of his son Nithin Reddy. Rajender may claim that his name was printed mistakenly in land documents. If it was true, why Rajender has not taken steps to make corrections in documents during the last two years,” Koushik Reddy questioned.
Commenting on Rajender’s statement that he would not compromise on his self-respect, the Congress leader said that in order to divert his illegal land grabbing issue, the former Minister was chanting self-respect mantra and using resignation card. He stated that though Rajender announced that he will take a decision on his resignation after discussing with his followers in Huzurabad, but had left for Hyderabad without announcing any decision as a majority of his followers advised him against it.
Rajender, who projects himself as BC, has not taken steps to sanction loans to BC youth during his seven and half years tenure as minister, Koushik Reddy alleged.
