Elections For 3 Rajya Sabha Members In Telangana On Feb 27

Hyderabad, Jan 29 (Maxim News): The Election Commission of India has released the schedule for the holding elections for 3 Rajya Sabha seats in Telangana for which polling and counting of votes will be held on February 27.

The Election Commission has also released the schedule for a total of 56 Rajya Sabhas in 15 states across the country which includes 3 seats in Telangana and 3 seats in Andhra Pradesh.

The notification for the Rajya Sabha elections will be released on February 8, Polling will be held on February 27, MPs Vadiraj Ravichandra, Lingaiah Yadav, and Santhosh from Telangana and Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, CM Ramesh and Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar from Andhra Pradesh are retiring on April 4.

The remaining 50 Rajya Sabha seats are from the State of Bihar 6, Chhattisgarh 1, Gujarat 4, Haryana 1, Himachal Pradesh 1, Karnataka 4, Madhya Pradesh 5, Maharashtra 6, Uttar Pradesh 10, Uttarakhand 1, West Bengal 5, Odisha 3 and Rajasthan 3.

According to the schedule, the notification will be issued on February 8, the Last date for filing nominations is February 15, the Scrutiny of nominations is February 16, the Last date for withdrawal of candidatures is February 20, and polling will be held on February 27 from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and the counting of votes will commence at 5.00 pm on the same day.
