Hyderabad, Nov 06 (Maxim News): Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi conducted a surprise inspection of various departments in the GHMC Head Office on Wednesday.

On this occasion, the mayor made a surprise inspection of the town planning, health, and veterinary departments. First, the officers of the town planning department were angry because they did not attend on time. Some staff are coming at what time. They asked if they were following the time management. Additional Commissioner Admin Nalini Padmavati was ordered to follow time management as the chairs were empty in some sections and asked them if they had not come to the office yet and went to have tiffin.

Nalini Padmavathi, Additional Commissioner of Administration to the Mayor explained that a circular has been sent to all the departments to send a report on the actions taken for those who are late after checking the attendance register, but no report has been sent from the town planning department till now. He expressed anger at the officials that more complaints are coming to the town planning section in Prajavani and the complainants are roaming around without solving the problem.

The mayor expressed his anger as some people in the health section were looking at their cell phones aside from work. When the in-charge CM&AA asked the staff that they were coming on time, JC Sanitation intervened and told the Mayor that as they were working as AM&HO in Musheerabad circle, they would finish their work there and come here till noon. JC Venugopal Reddy explained that he would come to the head office till 2 pm when asked if there was a time to come or not.

Where do food safety officials conduct inspections? When the Mayor asked Assistant Commissioner Mutyam Raju about how many people were working, he said that only 23 people were working and some of them were also in charge of other circles. When asked to call where the two are at the field level, Serilingampally called the food inspector and he did not answer properly.

Later examined in the veterinary department. When asked whether the staff are attending the office on time, the Mayor expressed his anger on the staff who said that they are coming to the office early.

On this occasion, the mayor said that earlier two surprise inspections were conducted in all the departments, the staff of the respective departments should come till 10:30 in the morning, the grace time will be another 10 minutes, and the staff who do not come to the office till 10:40 will be late three times in a month. He said that one casual leave will be cut and if there is no casual leave then EL will be cut. The mayor said that the mayor has issued instructions to all the departments of GHMC to submit the report every month. (Maxim News)
