Excise Department Shuts Tonique Liquor Mart After Alleged Concessions by Former BRS Government

Hyderabad, Sept 1 (Maxim News): The huge concessions which were allowed by the previous BRS government to the only liquor shop known as “Tonique Liquor Mart” its branch in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad has been closed by Excise officials.

The mart was closed as the license of the mark expired. The management of the mart applied to extend the license of the Tonic Liquor Mart but the authorities refused.

There are allegations that the previous BRS government has given many concessions to this liquor mart with a special grant. Apart from that, the commercial tax authorities have found that the tax of crores of rupees has been evaded, and the government has given this mart the facility to buy liquor from anywhere in the state.

Because of the support, it got from the then BRS government to the Tonic Liquor Mart, none of the authorities paid any attention to it, if all the other Liquor shops in the state were allowed to sell liquor till 11 pm, this tonic mart had been permitted till midnight. (Maxim News)
