Expand Prajavani Services at Grassroots level: Closer to people doorstep

Hyderabad, April 26 (Maxim News) : Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to expand Prajavani services across Telangana and strengthen the public grievance redressal system.

He said people from remote areas should not travel to Hyderabad or district headquarters to submit petitions. Instead, the government must take Prajavani services closer to citizens.

The Chief Minister issued the directions during a review meeting held at MCRHRD on Sunday morning. Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and senior CMO officials attended the meeting.

Officials were asked to launch Prajavani immediately at the Revenue Division level. Later, the service will expand to the Mandal level.

Prajavani Services to Reach Grassroots

The Chief Minister said officers at every level must receive full powers to resolve complaints quickly.

He directed officials to register every petition and forward it to the concerned department without delay. Authorities must also update applicants on the status of their grievances.

He asked departments to fix clear timelines for disposal of complaints. Delays should not occur, he said.

The government will also develop a unified digital platform for complaint registration, tracking, and disposal.

Real time monitoring will be introduced at district and state levels. Separate nodal officers will handle Prajavani in every district and department.

The Chief Minister also suggested an auto escalation system. If one level fails to solve a complaint, the petition should move automatically to a higher officer.

He further asked officials to consider an appeal system for unresolved grievances.

Officials to Be Held Accountable

Revanth Reddy said there should be no compromise in grievance resolution.

Regular reviews will take place at district and state levels. Officials must focus on pending complaints.

A dashboard will track progress. If delays occur, the concerned officers will face responsibility.

He said decentralising Prajavani would reduce pending applications at district and state levels. Many issues can be solved locally at an early stage.

Successful Run at Praja Bhavan

The Chief Minister launched Prajavani on December 8, 2023, a day after assuming office.

Since then, the programme has run every Tuesday and Friday at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan.

Officials from all departments receive petitions there and act on them quickly. District collectors also conduct weekly Prajavani programmes.

The government believes wider expansion of Prajavani services will improve trust and make governance more citizen friendly. (Maxim News)
