Expatriates Key To BJP’s Rise: Gajendra Singh Shekhawat

Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that expatriates have played a key role in making the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) one of the most powerful political forces in India. He noted that the contributions of Indian expatriates were crucial in transforming a small, two-member party into the ruling party in most Indian states.

Speaking at a special gathering held at a hotel in Somajiguda on Friday night, Shekhawat addressed businessmen and expatriates from various states who have settled in the Jubilee Hills constituency. He stated that the BJP’s rise across the nation was strengthened by the continuous support of these communities. “Expatriates played a crucial role in making the Bharatiya Janata Party flag flutter in every village,” he said.

Shekhawat also recalled Telangana’s formation after long movements and criticized the decade-long rule under family dominance. He alleged that both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress had made agreements with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) to run their governments. He referred to Naveen Yadav’s shifting political alignments, saying he was with MIM earlier and is now with Congress, questioning what the agreement between these parties might be.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Kishan Reddy emphasized that the upcoming elections should be viewed beyond local boundaries. He asserted that Telangana, despite being formed with a strong financial structure, had suffered due to mismanagement during the BRS regime. He added that the situation worsened under the Congress government and expressed hope that a BJP double engine government will soon take charge. Telangana BJP chief Ramachandra Rao and former MLA Prem Singh Rathod also participated in the event, calling for a decisive BJP victory in the upcoming elections.
