- Telangana Board sets helplines and counselling support
Hyderabad: Students appearing for the intermediate public examinations commencing Wednesday will get a five minutes grace period to enter the exam hall. The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education announced that exams will begin at 9 am. However, students will be permitted inside the centres till 9.05 am.
Officials said the five minutes grace period aims to reduce stress and anxiety among students who arrive late due to traffic and other issues. Therefore, the Board expects smoother entry at centres across the State. At the same time, authorities advised students to reach early to avoid last-minute rush.
“Like last year, five minutes of grace time will be given to students to enter the exams. However, students should reach the centres at least 30 minutes before exam commencement,” said S Krishna Aditya, Secretary Telangana Board of Intermediate Education.
A total of 9,97,075 students have registered for the exams. This includes 4,89,126 first year and 5,07,949 second year students. The examinations will be conducted from February 25 to March 18 in 1,495 centres set up across the State.
Authorities have made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct. As many as 28,500 invigilators have been deployed. In addition, 1,495 chief superintendents and 1,495 departmental officers will oversee the process. The Board has also deployed 75 flying squads and 200 sitting squads.
This time, officials set up 20 spot evaluation camps. Evaluation of Sanskrit answer scripts will begin on February 26, he said. Meanwhile, hall tickets have already been hosted on the college’s login. Students can directly download them from the Board’s website or obtain them from MeeSeva Centres.
Candidates have been urged to verify the correctness of their name, medium and subjects appearing on the hall tickets. If any discrepancy is noticed, they should get it rectified by the college principal concerned.
The Board, in association with the Health department, is also extending free counselling through Telemanas. This service aims to help students overcome stress, strain, tension, anxiety and nervousness. Students can contact the toll free number 14416. In addition, the Board has established a State control room at 040-24655027 and IVR Phone No 9240205555 for students and parents to report any issues.
