Fool-proof arrangements for “Fish Prasadam” on June 8: Talasani

Hyderabad: Minister for Fisheries & Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav here on Wednesday directed the officials concerned to make fool-proof arrangements for the forthcoming annual “Fish Medicine” (fondly called fish prasadam) distribution to mark Mrigasira Karthi by Bathina Brothers at Exhibition grounds at Namapally on June 8.

The popular fish prasadam will be distributed among the folk on June 9 the following day. The minister held a high-level review meeting on the fish medicine program with Bathina Harinath brothers and officials from various departments like Fisheries, GHMC, Revenue, Health, Traffic police, electricity, Roads & Buildings, water works and others.

Instructing Harinath brothers to keep adequate quantities of fish medicines by keeping in view of the huge number of people come from various places to the city, the minister instructed the Fisheries officials to get ready for one lakh fish seed for distribution. He said a large number of people from various districts, States and even nations will throng the city for the famous fish medicine. “Every arrangement should be made for the smooth conduct of the fish medicine distribution program being conducted in a successful manner by Bathina Harinath brothers”, the minister said. Since a large number of people come to take medicine, the police should plan to take up necessary measures of barricading to avoid stampede and parking facility and space at the Exhibition grounds, he said.

Mobile teams will work for fish distribution and supply, three shifts with volunteers of three batches should be pressed into service for the purpose. He said to help the people reach out to the Exhibition grounds, the TSRTC will be pressing some 110 buses. Four ambulances and on-the-spot health services through health camps are need of the hour, the minister said. The electricity and water works departments should provide uninterrupted power supply and drinking waters while GHMC should take up regular cleaning and upkeep, he added.
