Former Nizamabad MP Keshpally Gangareddy passes away, KCR express expressed sympathies

Hyderabad, March 20 (Maxim News): Former Nizamabad MP Keshpally Gangareddy passed away in Hyderabad on Monday following a heart attack. He was 84.

Three time Lok Sabha Member besides being an MLA in undivided Andhra Pradesh, Gaddam Gangareddy was popular known as Keshpally Ganga Reddy. Starting his political career as sarpanch of Padkal village in 1956, he rose to become a leader of the masses. He had business interests in Telangana and Karnataka.

Ganga Reddy joined the Telugu Desam Party and was elected to the Lok Sabha on the party ticket in 1991. He later joined Congress following a call by the then Prime Minister late P V Narasimha Rao.

He was elected twice to Lok Sabha between 1998 and 2004 on a Congress ticket. Ganga Reddy, who had never lost an election right from sarpanch to MP, joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in 2004 and was elected as MLA from Ditchpally Assembly Constituency.

Ganga Reddy joined YSRCP in 2012 and quit the party after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to join BJP.

Ganga Reddy, who had not been keeping well, was treated at Care Hospital in Hyderabad and was discharged just two days ago. On Sunday, he suffered a heart attack and was taken to the hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

His body is expected to reach Nizamabad later in the day and his last rites will be performed on Tuesday.

KCR expressed deep sympathies
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed deep sympathies over the death of former MLC, MP K. Gangareddy.

The CM recalled his personal association with Gangareddy. The CM also mentioned about the way Ganga Reddy was with him since the inception of Telangana movement.

KCR has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the members of Ganga Reddy family. (Maxim News)
