Hyderabad, Sept. 1: The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) has launched the Indo German Gateway Programme to help Telangana MSMEs enter Germany and expand across Europe.
FTCCI launched the 12 month programme with the German Indian Business Alliance and Innovation Hub RheinMain. The initiative aims to provide Telangana enterprises with a structured route into the German market.
The programme will support companies with market assessment, market visits, business establishment and market development. Eligible enterprises can receive aggregate institutional support of up to €25,000. However, support will depend on eligibility, milestones, approvals and available programme resources.
FTCCI unveiled the initiative at the conference “From Telangana to Germany: Internationalisation Pathways for MSMEs” at Federation House in Hyderabad on Monday.
The programme also brings together the German cities of Rüsselsheim am Main, Raunheim am Main and Kelsterbach. Innovation Hub RheinMain represents the three cities in the partnership.
Industries Commissioner Nikhil Chakravarthy J, IAS, said Telangana now wants to move from ease of doing business to speed of doing business.
He said the government wants businesses to find Telangana easy to operate in. At the same time, it wants approvals and processes to move faster.
Chakravarthy highlighted Telangana’s talent base as a major advantage. He said around 1.7 lakh graduates enter the workforce from colleges in the state every year. He also said Telangana accounts for nearly 25 percent of India’s talent pool.
As part of Vision 2047, the state plans to reshape its industrial strategy through Industrial Policy 2.0. The new framework will focus on sectors such as aerospace and defence, leather and lifestyle, global capability centres, data centres, electronics and life sciences.
The government also plans to rechristen TiPASS. The move aims to create a more agile and outcome focused industrial facilitation system.
Furthermore, Telangana is preparing competitive incentives for companies investing US$25 million and above. The government wants to attract large investments, create quality jobs and strengthen local industrial ecosystems.
Chakravarthy said nearly 80 percent of components required by local industries are already manufactured within Telangana. He also highlighted the state’s geographical advantage and high seismic stability.
The Telangana Rising Global Summit 2.0 will take place from December 7 to 9 under the theme “Invest Telangana”. The state plans to use the summit to showcase its industrial policies and investment opportunities.
Roadshows will also begin soon to promote Telangana among international investors. The Industries Commissioner invited GIBA and German partners to participate in the summit.
FTCCI President K.K. Maheshwari said internationalisation remains a key priority for the chamber. He said the new programme goes beyond conventional business and trade visits.
He noted that Telangana has strong opportunities in advanced manufacturing, automotive and mobility, aerospace, life sciences and digital technologies. These sectors also offer scope for partnerships with German companies.
FTCCI Vice President Srinivas Garimella highlighted Germany’s strength in engineering automation and precision engineering. He said companies can grow in scale only through innovation.
Pankaj Diwan, Co Chair, said India and Germany have developed strong diplomatic and business ties. He highlighted 75 years of diplomatic relations and 25 years of strong business partnership.
He also said Germany accounts for a significant share of India’s exports to the European Union. More than 2,000 German companies operate in India, he noted.
Diwan described the city to city model behind the programme as a unique approach. He said FTCCI has strong synergies with the initiative.
GIBA CEO Nirmal Raman Kannaiyan and Chairman Selvakumar Periasamy outlined the opportunities for Telangana enterprises in Germany.
They pointed to Germany’s ageing population and changing workforce patterns. They said German industry needs international collaboration, particularly as younger workers increasingly move towards artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Madhav R. Sulphule, Regional Passport Officer and Head of Branch Secretariat, Hyderabad, Ministry of External Affairs, attended the event as Chief Guest. He also delivered the keynote address.
Sulphule said India is emerging as a key strategic partner for many countries. He also noted the global strength of German MSMEs and their ability to develop world class products.
Innovation Hub RheinMain CEO Stephan Wittekind highlighted the RheinMain region as a landing point for Indian companies entering Germany.
Kelsterbach Mayor Manfred Ockel also spoke about the region’s opportunities and business ecosystem.
The initiative comes as Telangana seeks stronger international business links. It also gives local MSMEs a structured route to test, enter and expand in European markets.
