New Delhi, March 27: The Central government has dismissed rumours about a possible lockdown due to fuel shortages. Social media posts and some reports had claimed that the country may face restrictions because of an alleged fuel crisis. However, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri rejected these claims.

The minister responded through his official X account. He said the government has no plans to impose a lockdown. He also asked people not to believe such reports. He described the claims as baseless and false.

Meanwhile, he said global tensions have raised concerns about oil supply. However, he clarified that India has enough fuel reserves. He also said the government is taking steps to ensure there are no disruptions in the supply chain. Therefore, people should not panic.
