Social media rumours triggered the panic buying. At the same time, reports about tensions between Iran and the United States created fear about possible oil shortages. As a result, many people rushed to fuel stations.
Because of this sudden demand, long queues formed at petrol pumps. Traffic slowed down at many major junctions. Some fuel stations even ran out of stock and displayed “No Stock” boards.
However, the government and oil companies quickly stepped in. They assured the public that there is no shortage of fuel. After this clarification, the situation improved.
Enough fuel available
Officials confirmed that Telangana has enough petrol and diesel for about 60 days. They also said tankers continue to supply fuel regularly from the IOC depot at Cherlapally.

Fuel dealers said sales increased three times during the panic. This caused temporary shortages at some outlets because tankers could not arrive on time. Now, supply has improved and fuel is available everywhere.
Government warns against rumours
The government also warned people not to believe false messages. Officials said they will file cases against those spreading fake news about fuel shortages.
Meanwhile, police deployed teams at major petrol pumps. They controlled crowds and maintained order. Authorities also ensured proper queue management.

People also cooperated. They bought only the fuel they needed. As a result, queues disappeared quickly.
Prices remain unchanged
Petrol in Hyderabad currently costs about Rs 107.46 per litre. Diesel costs around Rs 95.70 per litre. Officials said prices remain stable.
