The Ganesh Chaturthi festival falls on September 14 this year. Hindu calendar calculations place the festival on the fourth lunar day of the bright fortnight of Bhadrapada.
The report cites Acharya Sushant Raj for the installation timing. He said the midday period holds special significance for Ganapati installation and worship.

However, immersion dates can differ among festival committees. Some devotees may conduct immersion on the third, fifth, seventh or tenth day based on their local traditions.
The main citywide immersion is scheduled for September 25. Organisers will conduct a city procession before the immersion ceremonies on Anant Chaturdashi.
