Hyderabad, Aug 27 (Maxim News): It is learnt that around 85 thousand Ganesh Idols have been erected in the three commissionerates of the metropolis this year.
The police estimate that there will be one lakh idols, including small alleys, apartments, and other small idols. Of these, 60 thousand idols have been registered in the Hyderabad commissionerate, while around 25 thousand idols have been erected in the Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissionerates, officials said.
The statues are being counted sector-wise, and geotagging is being done. Plans are being made to avoid traffic problems while going for immersion. The higher authorities have already directed the inspectors and sector sub-inspectors to take strict measures to prevent any untoward incidents in the colonies and slums and to talk to the statue managers to this end.
