GHMC Commissioner Interacts with Women Students on Swachh Survekshan
Hyderabad, Jan 12 (Maxim News): Dr B Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC, interacted with students of St Francis Degree College for Women here on Thursday.
He explained about the initiatives taken up by GHMC as part of the Swachh Abhiyan Mission, distribution of 44 lakh bins, introduction of 2000 Swachh Autos, deployment of 27000 sanitation workers, improvement of public toilets.
The Students enquired of the Commissioner the system of carrying segregated waste, the need for bins at public places and also brought to his notice of foul smell near Nagole transfer station. While noting the students concerns Commissioner exhorted the students to get actively associated with various GHMC programmes.
On the Occasion of the National Youth Day, Dr Janardhan Reddy, called upon the youth to draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s clarion call “Arise, awake and stop not till your goal is achieved”. He called upon the students to participate in the Swachh Survekshan and rank the city.
Students showed keen enthusiasm in interacting with the Commissioner and finding out more about the work GHMC is carrying out in the city. On the part of the Commissioner it was a refreshing experience to meet and interact with students who are conscious of contributing to the city.
The GHMC Commissioner also intro Sister Dr Christene, Principal, St Francis College, Dr Venkat Ramana, AMOH and Major Shiva Kiran from United Federation of RWAs were present. (Maxim News)
