GHMC general body meeting turn chaotic

Hyderabad, Sept.20 (NSS): The general body meeting of GHMC held today turned chaotic . The meeting was chaired by mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi . The ruling TRS Party Corporators and BJP Corporators entered into argument with each other causing disruption of the proceedings of the council.

The meeting paid tributes to the martyrs of Telangana armed peasant struggle . The BJP Corporators raised slogans before paying the tributes. They raised objections by stating that September 17 was liberation day and not a merger day.

Later, the argument started furring the discussion on the works taken up under SNDP. Some Corporators said that the works were going on at snail’s pace while some Corporators demanded the clearance of arrears .Congress party Corporator from Uppal Rajitha told the council that the people of the city were facing a lot problems whenever there is a rain in the city and asked the ruling party leaders to come out of their houses and observe the status of the city when the rains hit the city.

TRS Corporator M. Kavitha Reddy thanked CM KCR for constructing Banjara Komuram Bhim Bhavan for the tribals of the state . The issue of the joining of some BJP Corporators into the ruling TRS also led chaos in the council hall . The BJP Corporators rounded the podium of the mayor and raised slogans . As the sloganeering did not stop, the mayor adjourned the meeting. (NSS)
