Hyderabad, Feb.15 (Maxi News): GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar asked HMR officials to take up road and footpath restoration works, development of central medians and hand over to GHMC from all along the route from JBS to MGBS.
Monthly Convergence meeting held at GHMC Head Office, hosted by District Collector Hyderabad. During the meeting the Commissioner, GHMC, asked the officials to provide speed limit sign boards in order to avoid accidents and regulate the traffic as most of the city roads were suitable for 40 kms speed limit. And also inform and share the new proposals of any departments among themselves so that the other utilities were not damaged and hamper the development works. All road cutting proposals and estimates be submitted to the CRMP agencies so that they execute the works immediately.
Police officials said of the accident deaths, 31 percent is of pedestrians.They asked the HMR officials to raise the height of central median grills in order to regulate pedestrian movement and prevent cross over as most of the accidents are occurring while crossing the road over central medians particularly in Kukatpally and Serilingampally area. On Illumination of dark spots, the Commissioner GHMC asked the officials to complete it by 29 th of this month.
Further the Commissioner asked to share the data on allotment of houses under JNNURM, Vambay from 2000 till date so to eliminate the duplication. Commissioner asked the Discom officials to connect the power generation to the grid so that the solar power generation would commence on GHMC buildings. Issues of shifting of electric poles and improvement of footpath has come up for discussion and also on notification of parking places at Metro Rail Stations.
All the water and drainage works will be handed over to HMSS&SB for maintenance. On the request of HMWS&SB officials not to impose penalties on water tankers as it is essential service, the police officials agreed not to impose any penalty on parking and no entries.
