GHMC To Take Up 360 Degree Sanitation Works In All 150 Wards: Mayor

Hyderabad, Nov.18 (Maxim News): Mayor Dr Bonthu Rammohan has said the GHMC proposes to take up 360 degree sanitation works in all the 150 wards in the coming days and appealed to the citizens, residential welfare associations, SHPs NGOS to participate in making the program a success.

Addressing the representatives of the RWS and Basti Committees, the Mayor said though sanitation works were going on daily, the GHMC proposes to organize special drive all-round sanitation works in all the 150 wards by deploying 50% staff from Engineering wing, Town Planning, Entomology, Urban Bio diversity, veterinary, UCD and Enforcement wings.

The special drive will be conducted for two to three days in each ward and take up the works like cleaning Main Roads, filling of pot holes, lifting of debris, C&D waste, removal of bushes in open places, removing of solid waste material from manholes, drains and nalas apart from removing plastic covers, replacing of manhole covers, repair of sewerage lines, removing debris at transformers, repair of footpaths, dividers, paining of central medians. Erecting sign boards for dumping of garbage points and non-dumping garbage points. Inspection on maintenance of hygienic conditions at road side eatable points, tiffin centers, hotels, fast food centers, painting of dumper bins.

Fogging, anti-larva operations by Entomology wing and to address the street dog menace. Checking toilets in petrol bunks and restaurants, sign boards

on location of toilets; Providing two bins wet and dry dust bins in business establishments. To make it success and to perform in more effective manner, the GHMC was involving RWS, SHG, Women health committees and NGOs in the special drive. Cleaning and water serving of all Sanitation vehicles to take up minor repairs in this regard already instructions issued to the Zonal Commissioners and DMCs, he added. (Maxim News)
