Hyderabad, Nov.18 (Maxim News): Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao today directed the officials concerned to expedite works for cultivating lands in tribal areas in the State by farmers. They said under Giri Vikas scheme, the government offers cultivable land to the farmers in the tribal areas to earn their livelihood.
During school review meeting, the ministers said the State government has sanctioned Rs 61 crore for the purpose. “Already we have sent proposals of Rs 46 crore to Rural Development Department in this regard”, they said. The ministers asked the officials to speed up and identify the real beneficiaries under Giri Vikas scheme. They also asked them to coordinate and implement the scheme for tribal farmers to push for farm activity. They also asked the officials to make use of funds for construction of buildings for Anganwadi centers. (Maxim News)
