Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar said that around 50,000 police personnel have been deployed for upcoming elections of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) which are scheduled on December 1.
Speaking to media, Anjani Kumar said that security has also been deployed for CM KCR’s public meeting at LB Stadium today.
“In the view of the election, several rowdy sheeters were bound over. Licensed firearms and ammunition have to be deposited in the nearest police station before the day of polling,” the CP said adding that all the arrangements have been made for the peaceful conduct of polling.
At present, all the parties contesting for the GHMC polls have been involved in the election campaign to seek public support for the contestants. The election campaign will end tomorrow and the polling will be held on December 1. The GHMC election result will be announced on December 4.
