Hyderabad, July 16 (Maxim News): Telangana state ministers presented sacred silk robes to the deity at the Sri Jagadamba Mahankali Temple atop the historic Golconda Fort today.

The colorful ritual officially marked the grand commencement of the month-long Ashada Masa Bonalu festival across the capital region.

Thousands of devotees arrived at the hilltop shrine to witness the initial prayers amidst heavy security deployments and extensive government-supported infrastructure.

State Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha led the official delegation at Langar Houz Chourasta to present the traditional Pattu Vastralu.

The ministers carried the sacred offerings and the first golden bonam on behalf of the state administration.

Following the formal temple presentation, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar joined the traditional folk dancers and celebrated alongside the Pothuraju performers to the energetic beats of regional drums.

The state government allocated fifteen crore rupees to manage civic amenities and security operations across thousands of regional shrines during the festival month.

Large contingents of police personnel are stationed along the fort route to supervise queue lines and manage heavy vehicle diversions.

Senior administrative officials inspected the temple premises to ensure uninterrupted water supply, medical camps, and sanitation facilities for the massive influx of pilgrims.

Devotees expressed immense satisfaction with the elaborate barricading and crowd control measures implemented by the city police department.

The annual festival commemorates Goddess Mahankali and serves as a vital symbol of the unique cultural heritage of Telangana. Authorities confirmed that special transport buses will operate continuously to facilitate smooth travel for families visiting the historic fort venue throughout the week.  (Maxim News)
