Golconda Bonalu Celebration Commenced:  Ministers Offered Silk Cloths To Goddess 

Hyderabad, July 7 (Maxim News): Golconda Jagadambika Mahankali Ellamma Bonalu started today at Langer House Chowrasta under the auspices of organizers of Golconda Bonalu Utsavs

Ministers on behalf of the Telangana government officially launched the Bonalu.  After that, silk clothes were handed over to the Goddess. From there the silk cloths were taken in process till Golconda Fort. The whole  program was done under the auspices of the Endowment department.  For the cost of maintaining the banals, the government has given Rs. 11 lakhs cheque  was handed over to the festival committee members by Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Konda Surekha and Golconda Executive Officer Srinivasa Raju. 

Many leaders including Minister for Endowment Konda Surekha, Minister Ponnam and MLA Danam Nagender attended the ceremony at Jagadamba Ammavari Temple in Golconda Fort and presented silk clothes.  Elaborate arrangements have been made to organize the Ashadha Bonala celebrations in a manner that reflects the cultural traditions of Telangana.  It is reported that Governor Radhakrishnan is likely to attend the Bonala festival in Golconda.  However, no statement was released from Raj Bhavan on this.

From today, every Sunday and every Thursday, devotees perform a total of 9 pujas to Goddess Golconda.  Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali Ammavari Bonala celebrations will be held on July 21 .  On July 28, Old City Lal Darwaja Simhavahini Mahankali Ammavari Bonalu will be held.  The Bonalu festival which started in Golconda will end on August 4 in Golconda.  (Maxim News)
