Governor Takes Key Decision on Pending Bills

Hyderabad, April 24 (Maxim News): The Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has taken a key decision on the pending bills. The governor rejects the DME retirement age hike bill. An explanation was sought on the Municipal Act amendment Bill. also, the Governor asked for clarification on private universities.

The Governor said no to the bill passed by the State government in the Assembly increasing the retirement age of Director of Medical Education, Additional Director, Professors, Associate and Assistant professors from 61 years to 65 years.

Two other bills, the Municipal Act Amendment Bills and the Private Universities Bill, are pending for clarification. The State government has brought the Municipal Act Amendment Bill, extending the three year deadline for passing a motion of no-confidence in the municipal bodies to four years. Governor Tamilisai opined that more clarification is needed before taking a decision on this.

The Governor is of the opinion that the Government needs to give an explanation before taking a decision on the Bill brought to establish private universities in the state. (Maxim News)
