Governor’s New Weapon Against CM KCR: Invoked Article 175 (2)

Hyderabad, Aug 9 (Maxim News)  Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan is using constitutional weapons in the matter of pending bills. In the past, the Governor, who used Article 200 to keep the bills pending with her, recently invoked Article 175(2) to send messages to the legislators.

It may be recalled that out of 10 bills passed by the government in the last Assembly session, the Governor has returned 3  bills. It is reported that she has written a letter to the Speaker of the Assembly and the Chairman of the Council. Generally, the Governor will correspond with the Chief Secretary to the Government on any matter related to the Government.

This time the Speaker and chairman sent their letters to the members of the Legislative Assembly and Council.  According to this letter, the Governor could write letters to the MLAs and MLCs, so Tamilisai used it.

According to reliable sources, Raj Bhavan is interested to know if there was any discussion about it.  However, t seems that the Speaker informed the House about the Governor’s message and handed over copies of the letter to all the members.  This is the first time in Telangana that the Governor of the state has used Article 175(2) while it is reported that this procedure was used decades ago in United Andhra Pradesh.  (Maxim News)
