Govindaraopet Tahsildar Caught Taking Rs. 14,000 Bribe

Govindaraopet Tahsildar | Hyderabad, Sept. 18 (Maxim News): Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Friday caught Govindaraopet Tahsildar Nellutla Srujan Kumar while allegedly accepting a ₹14,000 bribe in Mulugu district.

According to the ACB, the officer demanded the bribe for showing official favour in the succession of ancestral agricultural land in favour of the complainant’s wife, Lingala Srilatha. The trap was conducted at the Mandal Revenue Office in Govindaraopet.

The ACB said Srujan Kumar initially demanded ₹15,000 from the complainant. The amount was later reduced to ₹14,000 following negotiations.

During the trap, the officer allegedly accepted the ₹14,000 with his right hand and kept the money in his right-side trouser pocket. ACB officials recovered the tainted cash from his possession.

A chemical test conducted on the officer’s right-hand fingers reportedly returned positive results. The ACB said the officer had improperly performed his official duties and accepted illegal gratification.

Srujan Kumar was arrested and is being produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Warangal. The case remains under investigation.
