Nizamabad Reserve Inspector | Hyderabad, Sept. 18 (Maxim News): A Reserve Inspector died after his service weapon accidentally went off at the Nizamabad District Police Headquarters on Friday.
The deceased was identified as H. Satish. According to preliminary police information, Satish had returned to the headquarters after completing his duty and was cleaning his service weapon when it discharged.
Other police personnel rushed to the spot after hearing the gunshot. Satish suffered serious injuries and died before he could be shifted to a hospital. His body was later moved to the Nizamabad District Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Nizamabad Police Commissioner Sai Chaitanya visited the headquarters after receiving information about the incident. Police have registered a case and launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the weapon discharge.
Police initially examined whether the incident could have been a deliberate shooting. Officials later said the weapon had gone off accidentally while Satish was cleaning it. The exact circumstances leading to the discharge are subject to the ongoing investigation.
The incident has also drawn attention to recent concerns involving the mental well-being of police personnel in Telangana. On World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, Director General of Police C.V. Anand had appealed to police personnel to seek timely support while dealing with personal or financial difficulties.
