Govt to provide reservations to allocate bar licenses

Hyderabad, Sept.27 (Maxim News): The state government is likely to provide reservations for the issuance of bar and restaurant licenses to people of various communities. This was revealed by state Excise Minister V. Srinivas Goud while replying to questions raised by the members of state Assembly during the question hour on the second day of the house.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the reservations would be provided in the same manner like the licenses of liquor shops. He said that the state government had provided 15 percent reservations to Gouda community , 10 percent to SCs and 5 percent of the STs of the state. He said that they were providing the reservations to ensure the economic development of various communities of the state. He said that the CM of the state had brought a lot of reforms in Telangana . He said that the CM had set up hundreds of residential schools for the developments economically weaker sections of the state. He said that the CM was working for the development of the BC communities of Telangana. Goud said that the CM had promised to provide the reservations for the allocation of the licenses of the bar and restaurants and added that they would soon take a decision on the issue.

He said that the reservations would be provided on the basis of the districts of the state in a transparent manner. He alleged that the past state governments ignored the welfare of the Gouda community and added that the Gouda community was only treated as vote banks by them. (Maxim News)
