Tirupati/Hyderabad, Sept 66 (Maxim News): The Tirupati Municipal Corporation has received the green signal for the re-division of divisions. The government has approved increasing the existing 50 divisions to 66. An order to this effect was issued on Tuesday. With this, political activities within the municipal corporation will gain momentum for the upcoming local body elections. Keeping the local elections in mind, the municipal corporation officials undertook the process of re-division of 50 divisions into 66 in the last week of April. Proposals were prepared taking into account the boundaries of the divisions, population and other factors and objections were received from the public.
Even after that, the government gave another week to receive objections and opinions from the public. With this, the re-division process in the municipal corporation has once again become a topic of discussion. In this context, many criticisms were also expressed on the exercise undertaken by the town planning department. On the other hand, the officials also accepted and examined the objections received during the additional period given by the government. They prepared the final proposals by making minor changes and additions where necessary. Later, the final list of 66 divisions was sent to the government. With the latest approval of the government, the re-division process of the divisions has been completed.

With the government’s approval for 66 divisions, the election heat is likely to increase further in Tirupati city politics. Discussions have already started in political circles on reservations in the increased divisions, selection of candidates, and the strengths of the respective parties.
