While 3,80,081 people applied across the state, 2,85,916 appeared for the preliminary examination held on October 16. The preliminary key was announced on October 29 and objections were invited. The Commission announced the final key on November 15 after examining the recommendations of the subject expert committee on the objections raised and removing five questions. As per the Master question paper, 29, 48, 69, 82, and 138 questions have been deleted.
The Commission has already completed the evaluation of QMR answer sheets for the Group-1 Preliminary Examination. Due to legal disputes, the announcement of the results has been hampered. Recently, after the Court gave clarification the commission announced the results. The TSPSC Board met in the afternoon with expectations of clarification from the government on a technical issue. The government clarified the issue at 5.45 pm, and with this, the Commission met once again under the chairmanship of Janardhan Reddy and announced the results at midnight.
The Commission has calculated the final marks proportionally out of 150 marks out of 145 questions as 5 questions out of a total of 150 marks have been deleted in the Group-1 examination. Eg. if 145 marks are 120 then it will be calculated as 150 and it will be 124.137. Thus the final merit list has been prepared by considering up to the third decimal point. Telangana locality is given first preference when two or more candidates get equal marks, then the date of birth is taken as standard. It said that higher ranks were given to the older candidate.
