New Delhi: India’s Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections crossed the ₹2 lakh crore mark for the second time in the current financial year, with gross revenues reaching ₹2.11 lakh crore in July 2026, registering a 15.4% year-on-year growth, according to data released by the Union Finance Ministry.
This is the second-highest monthly GST collection this fiscal after the record ₹2.43 lakh crore collected in April 2026, reflecting sustained growth in economic activity and tax compliance.
Telangana GST collections rise 19% in July
The Finance Ministry said GST revenue from domestic transactions increased 10.1% to ₹1.44 lakh crore, while GST collected on imports surged 29% to ₹66,511 crore.
Of the total collections, Central GST (CGST) stood at ₹39,835 crore, State GST (SGST) at ₹47,881 crore, and Integrated GST (IGST) at ₹1.23 lakh crore.
The government issued GST refunds worth ₹29,968 crore during the month. After adjusting refunds, net GST collections stood at ₹1.81 lakh crore.
Among the states, Telangana recorded GST collections of ₹5,819 crore, marking a 19% increase compared to July last year. Andhra Pradesh collected ₹3,366 crore during the month.
The robust growth in GST revenues is expected to strengthen the Centre’s fiscal position while providing states with higher tax devolution to support infrastructure, welfare and development programmes.
