GSTAT Summit To Be Held In Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry will host a high level Summit on the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal on February 21, 2026. The event will take place at Hyatt Place Banjara Hills from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

The summit, titled “GSTAT: Navigating the New Era of GST Litigation,” comes as the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal becomes operational. The tribunal is a key appellate body set up to hear and decide disputes under the GST regime.

GSTAT operationalisation and summit focus

The summit will focus on the structure and functioning of GSTAT. It will also explain how the appellate system works under the GST framework. Organisers said the event comes at a crucial time as businesses adjust to the new dispute resolution process.

Hon’ble Dr. Justice (Retd.) Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, President of GSTAT, will attend as the Chief Guest. Members of GSTAT from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are also expected to join. Senior officials and experts from GSTN and the State GST Department will participate as well.

FTCCI outlines objectives and sessions

Giving details, Mohd. Irshad Ahmed, Chair, GST & Customs Committee, FTCCI, said: “FTCCI is hosting this summit at a crucial juncture in the GST framework. With GSTAT becoming operational, it marks a significant step in strengthening the GST dispute resolution mechanism. We are honoured to have Dr Justice (Retd.) Sanjaya Kumar Mishra as the Chief Guest. Members of GSTAT from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will also participate in the summit. The program aims to equip professionals and businesses with clarity and practical insights into the functioning and procedures of the newly formed appellate body.”

According to him, the summit will include technical sessions on the structure and functioning of GSTAT. Experts from GSTN and NIC will also give a practical walkthrough of the GSTAT e filing system. Meanwhile, a panel discussion with senior tax practitioners, legal experts, and departmental officials will examine emerging challenges and best practices in GST litigation.

The event is expected to draw Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Cost Accountants, Advocates, tax practitioners, business executives handling GST matters, and finance professionals. FTCCI has invited all stakeholders to attend as the GST ecosystem enters a new phase of structured appellate redressal.
