Guv Opens TB Seal Sale Campaign In City

Hyderabad, Oct.4 (Maxim News): The Tuberculosis Associations of Telangana State organized the inaugural function of the 70th TB Seal Sale Campaign on Friday at 11.30 am at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan here.

Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the and distributed the Awards to the winners. Dr T.V. Venkateswarulu, Retd Additional Director & Vice-Chairman, TB Association of Telangana, presided over the function and Dr G.Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health & Family Welfare, was also present.

On the occasion, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan gave a cheque for Rs 15,000 to the State TB Association for the noble cause of the Association. In her inaugural address, the Governor said TB disease is completely curable and the TB disease should be completely eradicated from State. She said the people in the rural areas were suffering from the dreaded diseases.

Now, there are so many wonderful medicines introduced under the Revised National TB Control Program and TB patients should take treatment continuously without any break, as suggested by the doctors. She advised the TB Associations to take steps and see that the TB cases are reduced.

For the Research purpose, for the control of TB disease, the research is very costly and hence, the Corporate Sector may be contacted for their involvement and assistance to make Telangana100% TB free State well before 2025. She appreciated the TB Association of Telangana for doing yeoman services to eradicate T.B. (Maxim News)
