HC Asks TRS MLA to File His German Citizenship Details

Hyderabad, Aug.10 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court today asked the ruling TRS party MLA Chennamaneni Remesh to file details related to his citizenship status. It issued these orders following the submission of the counsel for the MLA that he had renounced his German citizenship and added that they had complete document of the same.

Appearing on behalf of the central government the Assistant Solicitor General (ASG) of India Rajeswar Rao made it clear that Ramesh was a German citizen and added that the MLA had submitted in his OCI application that he was a German citizen. He also told the court that the MLA had extended his German passport to 2023.

It may be noted here that the the union home ministry had cancelled the Indian citizenship of the MLA one year back. However, the MLA challenged the order in the HC and got a stay over it. (Maxim News)
