Hyderabad, Nov.8 (Maxim News): Hyderabad City Congress Committee (HCCC) Minorities Department leader Sameer Waliullah today urged Health Minister Etala Rajender to take immediate steps on a war footing to prevent spread of Dengue and other viral diseases in the State, especially in Greater Hyderabad.
In a representation, Sameer Waliullah said several lapses had led to the outbreak of Dengue, Malaria and other vector borne diseases. The municipal authorities, District Medical & Health Departments and other concerned agencies have failed to take preventive measures to control the viral diseases. He alleged that some 9,000 cases of Dengue were reported in the State during this monsoon. Several people, including children and pregnant women were killed due to Dengue.
All hospitals, both private and public were receiving patients suffering from Dengue, Malaria or other viral fevers, he said, adding that there was no coordination or exchange of information between the Health and GHMC authorities which delayed fogging and anti-larval operations. He urged the Health Minister to conduct a detailed review on the issue by involving officials concerned. (Maxim News)
