Mancherial/Hyderabad, July 26 (Maxim News): In a move aimed at upholding the apolitical nature of educational institutions, an in-charge headmaster of a government school in Mancherial district was suspended for allowing Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party workers to donate chairs during school hours.

The incident occurred under the ‘Gift a Smile’ initiative, which, although aimed at improving school infrastructure, sparked controversy for involving political party members during academic hours. The headmaster, RK Prasad, reportedly permitted the event without prior approval from higher authorities.

Violation of Educational Guidelines

According to officials from the education department, the presence of BRS party cadres on school premises during class time amounted to a violation of norms that strictly prohibit political activity within educational institutions. The department emphasized that government schools must remain neutral and free from any form of political influence or association.

As a result, RK Prasad has been placed under suspension pending further inquiry, and authorities are reviewing the protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Maintaining Political Neutrality in Schools

Officials have reiterated that while philanthropic contributions to schools are welcome, they must follow proper channels and avoid association with political branding or presence during school hours. The incident has sparked a broader conversation about maintaining the sanctity and impartiality of government-run schools in Telangana.
