Heavy Flood Inflow To Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoir: 26 Gates Lifted And Water Released
Hyderabad, Aug 21 (Maxim News): A huge flood is reaching the Nagarjunasagar reservoir. With this, 26 gates are being lifted and water is being released. The inflow to the project is 3,92,997 cusecs.
The outflow is 4,73,053 cusecs. The full water level of Nagarjuna Sagar is 390 feet. The current water level is 583 feet. The full water level of the project is 312.04 TMC. It is currently recorded as 291.66 TMC.
The flood flow to the Srisailam reservoir is increasing further. Flood is coming from the Jurala and Sunkesula projects. the inflow to the Srisailam project is 4,98,022 cusecs. 5,13,540 cusecs are being released from the reservoir. 30,000 cusecs are being released from the Pothireddypadu head regulator, 35,315 cusecs from the left bank power station, and 29,595 cusecs from the right bank power station.
10 spillway gates are being raised by 18 feet. 4,18,630 cusecs are being released to Nagarjunasagar. The full water level of Srisailam is 885 feet, currently it has reached 881.60 feet. The project’s full water storage capacity is 215.80 TMC, but it is currently recorded at 197.01 TMC. (Maxim News)
