Heavy Floods In Nagarjuna Sagar: Gates Lifted And Released Water
Nalgonda/Hyderabad, Aug 5 (Maxim News): The gates of the Nagarjunasagar project were raised in the background of heavy floods coming from above. SE Nageswara Rao and CE Anil Kumar gave Jalharathi to Krishnamma and released the water downstream.

First, the siren sounded three times to alert the people of the lower areas. Later six gates were lifted one by one and the water was released downstream. Officials said that about 2 lakh cusecs of water will be released downstream through Sagar Crust gates.
The full water level of the Nagarjuna Sagar is 590.00 feet, the Current water level of the Sagar is 582.60 feet, the Full water storage capacity is 312.50 TMCs Current water storage is 290.51 TMCs, the Nagarjuna Sagar inflow is 3,23,748 cusec, while the Outflow is 83,331.cusecs (Maxim News)
