High Court Directs KCR Govt To Give A Clear Date On Holding Elections 

Hyderabad, July 29 (Maxim News):  The High Court of Telangana has directed the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao government to give a clear date for when elections will be held for the vacant local bodies in the state.  

The court has expressed its impatience that elections were not held even after many days of vacancies.  It directed the Advocate General to know the decision of the government.

Lawyer Rapolu Bhaskar filed a PIL seeking direction to the government to hold the elections for vacant Sarpanches, MPTC, and ZPTC, and more than 5000 wards..

A bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice T. Vinod Kumar took up the hearing.  The bench commented that the High Court had already issued orders to conduct the elections.  Advocate Vidyasagar for the State Election Commission said that they are ready to conduct the elections.  The High Court has given the government a week’s time to explain.  (Maxim News)
