People Living Close To Catchment Areas Beware

Hyderabad, July 29 (Maxim News):  As the heavy rains lashed the Telangana state, Many projects in the state are progressing at an alarming rate.  As the flood water was coming on a large scale, the officials lifted the gates of the respective projects and released the water downstream.  As a result, people in low-lying areas and flood-prone areas have to spend their lives in distress.

Meanwhile, the danger warning continues in the closed catchment areas in Hyderabad.  Dangerously closed and flowing at Chadarghat Bridge, Musarambagh, due to the lifting of 8 gates of the twin reservoirs, the flood impact is high.  

Osman Sagar has an inflow of 500 cusecs.  while the full water level of Osman Sagar is 1790 feet, the current water level has reached 1787.95 feet.  As the flood tide was high, officials raised the 4 gates of Osman Sagar by two feet and released 852 cusecs of water into the dam.  Also, the inflow of 1500 cusecs to Himayatsagar is continuing.  The full water level of Himyatsagar is 1783.50 feet.  the current water level has reached 1762.75 feet.  Himayatsagar’s four gates were raised by two feet and 2750 cusecs of water were released into the dam.
