Hyderabad, July 22 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court on Wednesday extended the validity of existing journalist accreditation cards until August 3, 2026, while hearing a petition filed by the Telangana Urdu Working Journalists’ Federation (TUWJF) and others.
The petition was argued by Advocate Barkath Ali Khan, counsel for the petitioner.
The court directed that the existing accreditation cards will remain valid until the next date of hearing, ensuring that accredited journalists continue to receive official recognition during the interim period.
High Court Seeks List of Accreditation Holders
During the hearing, the High Court directed the petitioner to submit before the court a copy of the list of journalists whose accreditation extensions have been sought.
The court noted that the same list had already been submitted to the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on July 15, 2026, and instructed the petitioner to file the same copy before the court.
The matter has been adjourned to August 3, 2026, for further hearing. (Maxim News)
