High Court Upheld The Allotment Of 5 Acres Of Land To Film Director Shankar

Hyderabad, July 7 (Maxim News):  The Telangana High Court upheld the allotment of land to film director Shankar and dismissed the PIL challenging the allotment of land.

The High Court which heard the petition on Wednesday questioned what was wrong if the state government allotted land to Shankar for the construction of a studio.  it is believed that the State government has powers regarding land allotment and there is a policy for each requirement.

The High Court said that the government will allot land to film artists and sportspersons and there is no need to make a mistake in this.  The Court also said that the famous directors Satyajit Ray and Hazarika were allotted lands by their respective governments.  Meanwhile, the High Court on Wednesday heard a Public Interest Litigation filed by J. Shankar of Karimnagar challenging the allotment of 5 acres at Rs. 5 lahks per acre to director Shankar in survey No. 8 of Mokila village of Shankarpally mandal of Rangareddy district in 2020.  (Maxim News)
