Hyderabad, May 20 (Maxim News): A large quantity of high grade ganja was seized at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials found ganja with two passengers who had arrived in Hyderabad from Bangkok. The accused looked suspicious to the DRI officials as soon as they got off the plane. They were stopped and their luggage was checked, and the ganja was found. The accused cleverly packed the high-grade ganja in water bottles, snack tins, and food boxes and tried to smuggle it.
DRI officials said that a total of 8.705 kg of ganja was seized. Its value in the international market is estimated to be around Rs. 3.05 crore. DRI officials, who registered a case in this incident, arrested two accused under the NDPS Act. They revealed that a deeper investigation is underway into the drug network and other links behind this smuggling. Smugglers have been caught smuggling ganja, drugs and valuables like gold at Shamshabad airport recently. (Maxim News)
