High Mercury Levels Keep People Indoors In Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 24 (Maxim News): The recent showers failed to bring much-needed reprieve from the summer’s heat; across the city, the temperature has remained over 40 degrees Celsius. Residents have started choosing to stay indoors more often throughout the noon and afternoon hours since the sun beats down so severely. Due to this, the majority of city streets, including the main thoroughfares, now have a barren appearance.

Almost all of the city’s road segments, including the city’s constantly-busy IT corridor, have very little automobile traffic. In terms of shopping, entertainment, eating out, or commuting, the city these days is completely empty between midday and four o’clock. Punjagutta, Khairatabad, Masab Tank, and other congested areas of the city that often bustled with traffic during regular seasons are now almost deserted because of the extreme heat.

In the upcoming four to five days, the weather systems going across north telangana will continue to produce additional rain. Rangareddy had the state’s highest recorded rainfall as of Monday with 88.3 mm, which was a severe downpour. Jagtial came in second with 55 mm and Karimnagar came in third with 54.3 mm, both of which were considered moderate downpours.

The city saw moderate precipitation, with Rajendranagar receiving the most (52.3 mm), followed by Amberpet (46.3 mm), and Serilingampally (44.5 mm). Many places in the city also experienced power cut from early morning in areas such as Bowenpally, Nacharam, Saidabad, Kirshna Nagar, Tank Bund, Suncity, bandlaguda jagir, Tolichowki, Kompally, Mallapur, Moosarambagh, Beeramguda, Mothi Nagar, old city, Asif Nagar, Mehdipatnam, Erragadda, Katedan, Koti, Abids, and other places.
