HMR Authorities Issues SOPs For Customers

Hyderabad, Sept.5 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) authorities today issued Broad Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for resumption of Hyderabad metro rail services. The Metro operations will be resumed in graded manner. In the Phase-I, From September 7 onwards, the Corridor 1(Miyapur to LB Nagar) would be made operational. The Revenue services would be from 0700 hrs to 1200 hrs in morning and 1600 hrs to 2100 hrs in evening.

In the Phase-II, From September 8 onwards, the Corridor 3 (Nagole to Raidurg) would also be made operational. The Revenue services would be from 07 hrs to 12 hrs in morning and 16 hrs to 21 hrs in evening.

In the Phase-III, From September 9 onwards, All the three Corridors (C1, C2 & C3) would be made operational. The Revenue services would be from 0700 hrs to 2100 hrs in evening. The Frequency of trains will be around 5 min; It will be improved or decreased based on passenger traffic and to avoid crowding.

The Stations in containment zones will be closed: Gandhi Hospital, Bharat Nagar, Moosapet, Musheerabad and Yusufguda. In order to ensure social distancing, suitable markings at stations and inside trains are being done for passengers to stand. Alternate seat will be marked x inside the train and kept vacant.

The Social distancing would be monitored through CCTV by OCC, Station controller and Train Operators. The Wearing of face mask is mandatory for all passengers and staff. Metro Rail will make arrangements for supply of masks on payment basis to the persons arriving without mask. Suitable penalty as per regulation shall be imposed for any violation.

Only asymptomatic persons will be allowed to travel after thermal screening at entry into the stations. Symptomatic persons would be advised to go to nearby COVID Care Centre and Hospital for testing and medical attention. Use of Aarogys-Setu App would be encouraged. The Pedal type sanitizers will be kept at entry into the stations for use by passengers. The Stations will be disinfected thoroughly during non-revenue hours in the night. All human contact areas e.g., Lift buttons, Escalator hand rails, customer handling points will be disinfected frequently at stations, preferably every 4 hours as per requirement. The Metro trains will be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly during non-revenue hours at depots before putting them into passenger services.

Depending upon the frequency and reversal time available at terminal stations, human touch points like handrail etc. inside trains will be cleaned at terminal stations after every round trip. The Toilets will be cleaned & disinfected regularly. Handwash will be made available in the toilets for use by passengers. Proper PPE kits and sanitizers will be provided to employees and security personnel, who are likely to be in proximate contact with commuters and for longer duration.

Considering the potential of Corona to spread quickly, security personnel and private guards have been instructed to ensure adequate safety while frisking commuters without diluting security drills. Smart Card and Mobile QR ticket with cashless/online transactions will be encouraged. Adequate dwell time at stations will be provided to enable smooth boarding/deboarding ensuring social distancing. Passengers will be advised to travel with minimum luggage and avoid carrying metallic items for easy and quick scanning.

They will be encouraged to carry small bottle of sanitizer with them. The Intake of fresh air in air-conditioning system will be increased to about 75 percent Temperature inside the train should be maintained in the range of 24-30 degree Celsius depending on local climatic conditions. Operation of Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) system as per the Central Public Works Department (CPWD)& Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) guidelines. The Train doors shall remain open at terminalstations to let fresh air infuse in the train.

Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign will be launched for passenger and staff through electronic/ print/ social media, poster, banner, hoarding, website etc. Campaign would cover the theme ‘Safe Travel on Metro’. The Parking spaces would be opened for the metro customers as per guidelines enforced. The Mock drills keeping view various scenarios post Covid-19 are being conducted before commencement of the metro operation. The Metro Rail will keep close liaison with State police, medical authorities and local administration for regulating crowd outside station and to deal with contingencies. (Maxim News)
