Housing Policy For Journalists Soon: Validity Of Accreditation Extended By Three Months

Khammam/Hyderabad, June 19 (Maxim News): State Information, Civil Relations, Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has announced that a new policy will be brought soon to provide housing to working journalists working in the state.

 He was present as the chief guest at the TWJ (IJ) State Tertiary Congress being held at Khammam on Wednesday. Speaking on this occasion, he said that he played a great role as a journalist in the Telangana movement. He said that during the previous government’s tenure, the then Chief Minister KCR gave assurances that problems would be solved with words, but not a single problem was solved. He reminded that journalists have worked hard to bring Congress government and people’s rule in the state.

He criticized the previous government for not giving them houses even though the case was cleared in the past year in the state capital Hyderabad. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the government will soon arrange to give those places to the members of the Hyderabad Journalists’ Housing Society, and within a week.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is ready to release the relevant JIO. Also, he said that a policy will soon be taken to give housing places to the remaining journalists in Hyderabad and all the working journalists working in the districts and mandals. He said that in the past, the G.O. giving to the journalists in Khammam to the houses has stopped. District Collectors have been ordered to look for another place and the process will be completed within a week, he announced. The minister stated that the deadline for accreditations is coming to an end and the relevant orders are being extended for another three months.

 He said that this government will support journalists 100 percent and will provide medical treatment to journalists by the policies of various states regarding health cards. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that all kinds of committees for the protection of journalists’ welfare will be restored soon.
